when i see people i don’t know, whether on the street or at the gym, i avoid eye contact at all cost. and in the event that i accidently make eye contact, i rarely ever smile. this all seems odd because i am generally very friendly, but i guess i reserve that for my friends or people i already know.
i wonder if other people draw such gross distinction between strangers and friends when it comes to a casual encounter?

both my parents thought the picture at http://www.puresanfrancisco.com/ was me! my dad, in fact, insisted on it was me even after my mom questioned his certainty.

i have decided that i am gonna get a personal trainer. i worked out with one when i first started working out and that was one of the best decisions that i had ever made. i would totally go back to him if i could find him. but yeah, my 10lbs are not coming off easily so i am turning to a professional.
liberty mutual is the WORST insurance company ever. we used to have them, and they made a ton of mistakes and refused to correct them. they gave us a good quote for this year and we were thinking about going with them, although i was highly hesitant. of course they messed up again, after we had already accepted the quote and paid a deposit.
anyway, i wrote a three page complaint to the department of insurance, along with 5 exhibits documenting the communication between us and the insurance company. the department of insurance has been very helpful in the past in resolving our disputes with liberty mutual.
sometimes it helps to be a litigator - i pretended that the complaint is just another motion i have to write.

i am not busy at work and all i can think about is this weekend. CT will be here in less than two days! yippee! no, i am not counting down by the hour but i haven’t seen her since dec.
anyway, lots of things have been planned. big bday dinner, an even bigger bday party, biking/wine tasting trip in sonoma, maybe another night of partying, then a low key monday for catching up with old friends.
i hope CT has a great time. i am gonna play vball prior to picking her up - i hope i don’t run late.
last night i went to the giants game. we had great seats- just behind the visiting team bullpen, the stadium is beautiful, and the giants hit quite a few out of the park.
it always surprises me how expensive everything is at sbc park. luckily it was on the firm. =) i went with probably the healthiest food option - a turkey burger.

CT is coming in a few days…i am so excited.
i had a full itinerary planned, although she “gently” reminded me that we don’t have to be busy every hour, and that we can just sit around and chill, like we used to do.
that reminds me of the good old days where it seemed like we had an unlimited amount of time to live together and go to school. even though things are great now too, i would give anything to relive that “era.”
we had this big apt on ophir and kelton, and in front of our balcony was a large tree. sometimes we (yes, we, not just me) would put cheese or other food on the balcony and wait for the squirrels to come and eat it.
the tree shades our entire apartment so it was always nice and breezy. i guess it also didn’t hurt since we were about 15 minutes away from the ocean.
so i had been planning on hosting a bridal shower at my house, but just recently, one of the organizers asked if it is okay to have kids at the event. her email said she had checked with the bride and the bride didn’t have a problem with it. so i very candidly responded that i would prefer no kids. it should be no surprise to most of you that i am not a fan of kids in general.
so it turns out that the bride REALLY wanted to have her flower girl there, but i did not get that impression from the email i received. of course i would made an exception in this case.
but i guess since i already said no, she decided to host the shower at her own place instead. i feel really bad about it ‘cuz i was really looking forward to having it at my house. i even got a new, artsy-looking glass bowl for the coffee table, which compliments the curtains rather nicely.
i am afraid of the moon when it’s really yellow and bloated, which occurs frequently on a warm night.
(i think if you google “big bloated moon,” there are a bunch of pages that come up which explain this phenomenon.)
last night around 10pm, the moon was still barely over the horizon, very yellow, and HUGE. i was so scared. i wanted to close my eyes so i didn’t have to look right at it, but i thought that might not be a good idea since i was driving.
